Is it possible that alien lifeforms - 'little green men' from another planet – are visiting our own globe on a regular basis? Could mankind have interstellar neighbors, that on occasion, suck humans up into spaceships and perform experiments on their bodies? Do these lifeforms descend upon our planet leaving crop circles in fields and performing spectacular air-acrobatics before the eyes of thousands of witnesses? Is there a way to know what this phenomenon, claimed by more than just a few people, really is? Does the Word of God have anything to say regarding these events? I believe we can discover what is behind this apparent apparition of an alien kind with a thorough understanding of the Bible. Let me first preface this editorial with a claim that will divide the reader into one of two groups, them that are believers and lovers of the God of creation and those that will not. If you accept that God is who He says He is, you have no other option than to agree that the belief in intelligent alien life, regardless of what the eye may see (since, as Scripture makes clear, we live by faith and not by sight) is bogus, spawned by the pagan religiosity of nature worshipers and the sensual desires of hedonistic humanism, and maliciously designed by Satan to confuse the masses.

The earth is the center of the universe, Israel is the navel of the world and Jerusalem, the apple of God's eye. This may seem ridiculous at first, but let us reason together as it is completely sound and found in Scripture. Genesis tells us that the Lord spoke the universe into existence, creating the earth, the sun, moon and stars, and all of the heavenly hosts. He took the seemingly insignificant rock we call earth and shaped and formed it into an hospitable environment for life.

Our first clue to the truth is that the Lord wanted children - a people to share His love with - therefore, He made man in His own image and placed them in a paradise with His perfect and complete provision. We also read that Heaven is His throne and the earth His footstool - which tells us instinctively that if His seat is the most honorable place, only His footstool is second to it in His affection even though it is a fallen world. The Bible is very specific that all things in the heavens were made in contrast to the earth, the home of the children of God. Man was made specifically for a relationship with his Creator, given everything he needed to survive, rules to live by and the senses to take in this wondrous creation and be dumbfounded by the majesty of His creative glory.

Beyond this, we must look at the overall story of the Bible – looking at the whole forest and not just the tree before our collective nose. The Bible is completely coherent and consistent throughout in that there has been a plan for the end of finite time from before the very beginning. The theme of the Word of God is thus: God made man to be His child knowing that nothing created can be holy as He is holy. Since sin cannot occupy the same place as His Holy Spirit, man cannot of his own accord be good enough to reside with Him. As the Bible declares 'no man can look into the face of God and live' because there can be no darkness where Light exists and 'all have sinned and fallen short of His glory'. The OT was the shadow of things to come, designating the blood of innocence as the only sacrifice worthy of ransom; the passover lamb of Exodus being the Redeemer concealed and Jesus Christ the Redeemer revealed, called the spotless Lamb of God whose precious blood was shed for the redemption of anyone who would believe. With the end of the story foreknown by our Father, His plan was already in place...to reconcile man to Himself by Himself through Jesus Christ. In this overview one thing is clear, all things were created for mankind. We know this because it is the very creation that God gave to us to know Him by. Every star in heaven is in it's place so that you and I will see them and search for Him who made them. Again, God made all things for the express purpose of showing Himself to man.

It is truly telling that we humans, being so technologically advanced, have never found proof of life anywhere else in our universe. With all of the knowledge available to us, we are no closer to finding extra-terrestrial life than from the beginning of time. This is not accidental, we can be sure. I will concede that there is a minute possibility that some form of microscopic life may reside elsewhere in the universe, possibly even other animal and/or plant life, but there is NOT another form of intelligent life capable of rising to the level of mankind. Why? Because of the Truth laid out by YHWH, God, in the Word He has given us.

Genesis explains that man was made in the image of God, so let's try to wrap our arms around what this means. John, the beloved Apostle of Christ, painstakingly explains in much detail that the Word was with God and the Word was God. If you haven't come to this understanding yet, though I trust you have, this is the pre-incarnate Jesus. All through the OT we see that the Angel of God (again the 'before-flesh' Jesus) appeared with express purpose of speaking with and delivering God's people in times of need. A short list of these events would be Abraham's three angelic dinner guests, Jacob's wrestling match, Nebuchadnezzar's attempted BBQ of Shadrach, Meshech and Abed-Nego, Daniel, Ezekiel, and many more accounts. Without exception, the visible image of the 'before flesh' (a.k.a. Christopanies) Christ is described as looking like 'the son of Man' or the 'Son of God', a 'Son of the gods' or a variant of these. This tells us that even before He put on flesh He had the figure of man...or rather, man resembles Him. So there it is. In the beginning, the Word, through which everything was made that was made, also created man in His image. This tells us that we were made in the likeness of the Word of God, Jesus Christ, resembling His form – that of the human race. This proves that we really were not a unique design of creature, just a finite copy of the infinite God of the universe. A cookie-cutter design made from the template of Christ Jesus, who is the embodiment of God.

With the previous argument in mind, does the Bible speak of Christ dying and conquering death for all beings? Absolutely not. Not for your dog or cat, chickens, goats, grasshoppers, the great horned owl, the flying fish or the dinosaur. Not for endangered whales, crocodiles, ants, spiders, trilobites, squid, bears, jackals, trees, grass, water or sand. No! The God of all creation was born of a human virgin, lived the life of a sinless Man, suffered the intolerable shame and excruciating pain of crucifixion, and the humiliating death of a criminal and rose three days later by the power of the Spirit of God, once again in the body – albeit the incorruptible flesh – of mankind; one-hundred percent Man and one-hundred percent God. The alien idea may be acceptable in Mormon theology but not for the true believer of Christ, if I might be so dogmatic in doctrine...and I shall.

There is not one iota of evidence in the Holy Scriptures that the Lord has given us, that suggest any life-form exists outside of our perfectly balanced ecology - aside from angels which can appear to us, be they divinely appointed or satanically inspired, but they are not inhabitants of another world. They occupy the spiritual realm and can manifest in ours in several ways. The Bible even tells us that Satan can appear as an angel of light – and being the father of lies, the most reasonable excuse for Mohammed thinking Gabriel appeared to him is that Satan deceived him, giving birth to the hateful, murderous religion of Islam.

It is fact and not my opinion that we have found no other place in our minuscule window of observation that has the following perfect properties set in order by the Father of lights. Did you know that our moon, sun and the earth are just the right size, with just the right degree of separation so that we can observe lunar and solar eclipses – yet, we cannot find anywhere else in our field of view in all of space, from which an observer might watch this phenomenon? During a solar eclipse, if the moon were a fraction of a degree different in size or location, there would be nothing to watch – the sun's corona would not be visible, nor would solar flares, and darkness would not ensue at the moment of alignment. The same is true for a lunar eclipse. God has set these things in place for our wonderment and inquisitional nature, reaching out to man, saying, “come to Me, seek Me!” I will not go into the will of man versus the will of God and our liberty and responsibility in this article, but these are great influences into why God uses this method – among others – to touch us.

I believe there is more than adequate reason to conclude beyond a reasonable doubt that aliens are a figment of the imagination coupled with demonic activity. As real as 'close encounters' may seem, you will not find a single born again Christian who has seen something of this nature after their life-change. Why? Because once the Lord has opened your eyes, Satan cannot fool you. Your heart and mind have been transformed and you will not believe the lie. Just as an unbeliever cannot see miracles from the hand of God while spiritual scales bind him in blindness – a true believer will not see the tricks of the devil as anything other than what they are – a lie. It is my assumption that this will play a huge roll in the ever nearing end of times battle between Satan and our God, but if nothing else, it surely has a hand in leading people down the wide path that leads to perdition.

The Lord has said that Satan's lies would be so believable that, “even the very elect might be swayed...if that were possible.” May you walk in the way of the Lord and have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Lord says in this, the hour of decision. If you hear Him, do not hesitate in calling upon the Name of the Lord, Jesus Christ as we will all give an account before either the judgment seat of the Father or the bema seat of Christ. I pray I will see you there on the right hand of the Lamb...even so, come Lord Jesus - Come!
